Orientale Lumen 2011

I was able to go to this in 2009 and 2010, and can heartily recommend supporting Jack Figel’s Orientale Lumen (Light from the East) conference and his projects. Check out the impressive speakers’ list at “Jack’s Corner” for June 20-23, 2011: “Rome and the Communion of Churches:  Bishop, Patriarchate or Pope?  . http://ecpubs.com/wp/

This is the HEART of Catholic-Orthodox dialogue, the Petrine ministry, whose reevaluation Pope John Paul II called for in his groundbreaking writings, and Pope Benedict XVI is equally open to. Check it out and go, and if you can’t go, then order the talks.

As the Near East continues to amaze everyone with this year of surprises, keep the Christians in mind, both the long-suffering native Churches and the foreign migrant workers who often labor in tough situations.
