This week we are reading the Passion in St Mark, next week from St Luke. This is the time of year when devout Orthodox and most Byzantine Catholics outside of the USA (and more and more nowadays inside the US) eliminate meat products and then dairy products from their homes to prepare for the strict Lenten fast. The theme last Sunday was the Last Judgment – I did not get to post as I was quite ill for a few days. This coming Sunday, Cheesefare, is the call to forgiveness.  We begin Great Lent that night. I am continuing to update links – you never know when you are going to be called on to defend the Church for some period of time, so check out what I am slowly putting in there.  May we prepare to welcome the Fast with joy!
