Beginning today, a new website posted by Iraqi Christians, asks for the canonization of the priests, adults and children slaughtered at Our Lady of Deliverance Cathedral on 31 October, and also that they be joined by Christians around the world in reciting a novena to Our Lady of Perpetual Help for help for the suffering Iraqi Churches:
Prayer offered by the French Office of “Aid to the Church in Need” for the Novena to Our Lady of Perpetual Help ,
Give peace to the land of Iraq
O Our Lady of Perpetual Help
We entrust to your heart and your love
The Iraqi people and the Church of this land.
Guard them from injustice,
In any division,
From violence and from war.
Keep them from temptation,
Slavery and revenge.
Be with them!
Help them to overcome doubts in faith,
fear with confidence,
hatred by love.
O Mother of Christ,
Be their comfort
And give strength to all those who suffer:
The persecuted,
the refugees.
Give peace to this land divided
And all the light of hope.
Prayer inspired by John Paul II
This is their multi-lingual home page: http://www.martyrs-iraq.org/ I urge readers to go there and support these people with active prayer and notes!
